The new History Group met monthly in 2006 and by the end of the year, photos and stories were arriving, the website was set up by Anne Savage, and research concentrating on the last 50 years or so commenced.
Early in 2007 the decision was made to hold a School Reunion, and this took place at the school in June 2007.
We received many letters and thanks. Below are a few.
28 June 2007 From Ray Russell in Dersingham:
I cannot allow the occasion to pass without writing to thank you and those who helped to organise the get-together at Tilney School on 26th June.
This proved to be an enjoyable evening for which everyone to whom I spoke was very appreciative. In particular I was pleasantly surprised at the number of older people present in the 70 to 80 plus age range. It was also very interesting to see how the school and surrounding area have been transformed...we all had our memories of different events and sometimes differing memories of the same event.
Arising out of one of my conversations, I am enclosing an addendum to the background information I previously brought over relative to the thirties and early war years which I hope you will find legible.
28 June 2007 From Jean Kalen in Ipswich
Thank you for letting me know about the Re-union at Tilney All Saints School. Thank you for a very enjoyable and amusing, entertaining time! I came across a distant relative I did not know I had, and met lots of people I knew long ago.
I am sure everyone had a very enjoyable time, and it was certainly very well attended. Many thanks for all your efforts! Well done!
From Bob & Audrey Burrows
Bob & I want to say what a wonderful time we had at the Re-union etc. It was a wonderful turn out & the eats, tea & coffee were wonderful. How hard everyone must have worked...Look forward to the book.
